  • There is vending-machine car parking for a limited number of hours, and all-day parking at nearby multistorey or car-park paddocks; there is no free parking. There is a taxi-rank one block from the venue, and nearby bus options.

  • Visitors from some countries may require an invitation in order to obtain an Australian visa. If that applies to you, please let us know ASAP.

  • We have been offered a discount on accommodation by the Hotel Grand Chancellor with rooms available to us at $180 or $215 per night. For details of the booking procedure, please see here.

  • Sustenance
    • For catering reasons, please RSVP if you wish to attend the Oracle-provided dinner on the evening of the 11th (thank you Oracle!).

      Proceed upstairs to our reserved area, our gathering is under the name: "DMF User Group"

      (we may, or may not, move elsewhere when we get hungry)
    • Lunches will be provided by DDN & SGI (thank you!).
      These will be located in the CSIRO building in Castray Esplanade, two buildings east of IMAS.

  • The meeting room is fitted out with a projector; to present anything electronic, you can bring your own laptop or plug a USB drive into ours.

    If you need something extra, such as a whiteboard or a fast Internet connection, please let us know well in advance.

  • Internet access
    • Attendees with Eduroam accounts should be able to use them to gain wifi Internet access.
    • A guest wireless service is available for those without Eduroam access. Ahead of the meeting (preferably two days before) we need the following details:
      • Fullname
      • Company/Organisation
      • Email address or mobile phone number (in international format, eg: +61 1 2345 6789 for Australia)
    • Tethering ("personal hotspot") to your mobile phone

  • Presenters are encouraged to provide a copy of their talk where possible, to be placed on our web-site.

  • Hobart's weather in February is usually warm during the day (maxima 17 - 23° C).
